(Spencer)– Possible injuries were reported Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 18 and 240th Avenue just east of Spencer.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 87-year-old Bobby Weatherman of Ruthven was driving a 1998 Chevrolet southbound and had stopped at a stop sign. Deputies say she then pulled into the path of a 2016 Ford Transit van driven by 45-year-old Kenneth Branstner of Spirit Lake who was westbound on Highway 18.
Branstner complained of neck pain, but neither driver sought immediate medical attention on the scene.
The vehicle driven by Weatherman was totaled; damage to the vehicle driven by Branstner was estimated at $6,000.
Weatherman was cited for failure to yield.
