November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– An investigation by authorities in Emmet county into deer poaching resulted in the arrests of two rural Emmet county residents on multiple charges.

Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says information obtained during a deer poaching investigation back on Wednesday of this week resulted in authorities obtaining a search warrant on a residence at 4930 220th Street in Emmet county. The search turned up firearms, ammunition, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, evidence of deer and coyote, pheasant and one knife.

35-year-old Jerrod Pattison was arrested for possession of marijuana…second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Emmet county jail on a 10-thousand dollar cash or surety bond.

Also arrested was 35-year-old Kevin Clabaugh. He was charged with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon; possession of methamphetamine with a firearm present; possession of marijuana…second offense; possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while revoked. Clabaugh was booked into the Emmet county jail on bond of 81,250-dollars.

Authorities say the investigation continues and more arrests are likely.
