PlayStation Account Users Warned To Be On Lookout For Identity Theft

November 22, 2014

(Des Moines)– Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller says PlayStation account users need to take precautions to protect themselves from identity theft.

Miller’s warning comes in the wake of the company’s disclosure of a massive personal data breach in which large volumes of names, addresses, birth dates, user names, passwords and possibly credit card information was possibly compromised.

Miller says any consumer who provided credit card data through the PlayStation Network and Qriocity should assume their credit card information may have been stolen.

He also cautions consumers of the potential for e-mail, telephone and mail scams.

Officials say the breach could affect 77 million account holders worldwide.
