Performing Arts Series At ILCC Winding Down For This Session

February 23, 2026

(Estherville)– A comedian will close out the Performing Arts Series this year at Iowa Lakes Community College on Thursday March 5th. Jessi Strom who is the Performing Arts Center Promotions and Operations Director, says they are excited for the show…

“Yeah, I’m really excited to, that we were able to get a hold of a comedian to complete our series, you know, so it’s not just music and kind of rounds things out a little bit. Tommy Ryman, he’s from the Midwest, and I think, you know, people will relate to his, uh, his style of comedy.”

Strom says it was coincidence that a comedian will be the final show but that they like to have variety for the Performing Arts Series…

“The fact that he’s the final one. It’s just happenstance, you know, that’s what worked out for schedules as we try to put everything together. I always wanted a comedian, though. I hope that we’ll get a magician or illusionist sometime. You know, we want a variety and, you know, we want to see lots of things across the stage. And so, um, yeah, I, I’m excited that Tommy’s joining us this year and we’ll see what next year brings.”

Tommy Ryman was a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He has performed nationwide at top comedy clubs and festivals and has shared the stage with Maria Bamford and Louie Anderson. Tickets are on sale now on Ticket Leap or you can call 712-362-7918. Tickets are $15 for adults and Iowa Lakes students and all children get in for free.
