(Emmetsburg)– Palo Alto county authorities say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the theft of an all-terrain vehicle.
33-year-old Matthew McCauley of Whittemore was charged with second degree theft…a class “D” felony.
Authorities say the charge stems from a theft on May 30th of this year of a Honda ATV valued at $3,500. It was stolen from the driveway of a residence in Graettinger.
McCauley had initially been arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say subsequent to that investigation, they were able to uncover information concerning the ATV theft. Clay county authorities then contacted the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office which recovered the stolen A-T-V in Whittemore.
McCauley remains in the Palo Alto county jail.
