November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– A traffic stop Friday in Palo Alto county resulted in the arrests of two people on drug charges.

The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a vehicle driven by Mark Kuester of Klemme around 10:30 p.m. and discovered his driver’s license had been suspended. A sobriety check determined Kuester was under the influence.

A subsequent search turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana on Kuester; what’s alleged to be methamphetamine was found on a passenger, Kimberly Kuester.

Both were arrested and booked into the Palo Alto county jail.

Authorities say an additional search of Kimberly Kuester at the jail turned up a marijuana pipe.

Kimberly Kuester was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…both simple misdemeanors; introducing contraband…a class “D” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Mark Kuester was booked into the Palo Alto county jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated…second offense; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; and driving while suspended…a simple misdemeanor.
