Palo Alto Co. Rollover Results In Minor Injuries; Possible Charges

(Emmetsburg)– A Havelock man sustaiend only minor injuries but could also face charges as the result of a single-vehicle rollover shortly before 6:00 a.m. this (Monday) morning in the 4700 block of 440th Street in Palo Alto county.

The Sheriff’s Office says Ricky Burnett of Havelock was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer westbound when the vehicle left the road to the left. Authorities say Burnett over-corrected, causing him to lose control. The vehicle fishtailed and slid across the road. It went into the north ditch where it rolled, coming to rest on its top.

Burnett exited the vehicle and took off on foot. he was located a short time later in a bean field a quarter of-a-mile west of the crash site.

Burnett was taken by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The vehicle was totaled.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says charges are pending test results from the Division of Criminal Investigation crime lab in Ankeny.
