(Okoboji)– The upcoming season of productions at Okoboji Summer Theatre was announced as part of this past weekend’s University of Okoboji Winter Games festivities.
Beth Leonard, Artistic Director at OST, says if things go accordingly, Dawn Wells, an OST and Stephens College alum who went on to play the role of Mary Ann in Gilligan’s Island, may return to OST for the first production of the season “Steel Magnolias”, June 14-19th.
That will be followed by “Wait Until Dark”, a mystery thriller, June 21st-26th; “Bedroom Farce”, a comedy, June 28th-July 3rd; “Nunset Boulevard”, a musical-comedy, July 5th-10th; “The Sunshine Boys”, a comedy, July 12th-17th; “Shooting Stars”, a comedy, July 19th-24th; “Ladies Man”, a farce, July 26th-31st; “The Glass Menagerie”, a classic drama, August 2nd-7th; and “Evita”, a musical, August 9th-14th.
Leonard says a highlight of the season will be “The Sunshine Boys” which will pay tribute to some who starred previously in productions at OST, including Fritz Lennon who passed away within the past year.
