Osceola County Collision Sends Two People To Hospital With Possible Injuries

November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– A two-vehicle collision Wednesday at an intersection of two county roads in Osceola county sent two people to the hospital with possible injuries.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old Jeffrey Lauer of Sanborn was driving a 2003 Ford van eastbound on 170th Street approaching the intersection with Silve Avenue while 39-year-old Amy Jacobsma of Sibley was driving a 2009 Chevrolet eastbound on 170th Street. Deputies say Jacobsma collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Lauer who had slowed to make a right turn onto Silver Avenue.

Both Lauer and Jacobsma were taken to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley to be treated for possible injuries.

$5,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Lauer and owned by Sanborn Propane and Oil Company; $15,000 in damage was estimated to the car driven by Jacobsma.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Sibley Fire and Rescue and the Sibley ambulance.

The collision took place shortly before 9:00 a.m.
