November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– A two-vehicle collision Friday at the intersection of two Osceola county roads sent one person to the hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old Karen Trei of Ashton was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile southbound and 18-year-old Payge Blumeyer of Aston was driving a 2002 Pontiac eastbound when the two collided.

Trei was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley to be checked over for possible injuries. No other injuries were reported.

$2,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Trei; damage to Blumeyer’s vehicle was put at $2,500.

Blumeyer was cited for failure to yield.

Authorities were assisted on the scene by Sibley Fire and Rescue and the Sibley ambulance.
