(Harris)– A two-vehicle collision Tuesday at an intersection of two county roads near Harris sent one person to the hospital.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Steven Waltman of Harris was driving a 2010 Dodge pickup southbound and 46-year-old Donna Bootsma of Harris was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado when the two collided at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and 160th Street. Waltman’s vehicle spun around, coming to rest in the east ditch. Bootsma’s vehicle spun around and came to rest in the middle of Wilson Avenue.
Bootsma sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Authorities say neither driver was able to see the other due to a cornfield blocking the line of view.
Damage to the pickup driven by Waltman was estimated at $38,000; damage to the Chevrolet driven by Bootsma was estimated at $10,000.
The collision took place around 3:30 p.m.
