Osceola Co. Crash Sends 5 To Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– A two-vehicle collision Monday at the intersection of a county road and Highway 59 in Osceola county sent five people to the hospital.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Maria Magana of Worthington was westbound on County Road A22 at Highway 59 when she pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by 14-year-old Pierce Adams of Hartley who was northbound on Highway 59.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection, coming to rest in the ditch on the northwest side of the intersection.

43-year-old Tom Adams, 14-year-old Joseph Bootsma and 14-year-old Dillon Faas…all passengers in the vehicle driven by Pierce Adams, were taken to the Sibley hospital, along with Magana and a passenger in her vehicle, 50-year-old Rosa Martinez. All were checked over with minor injuries.

10-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2006 Ford driven by Adams and to a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Magana.

Magana was cited for failure to obey a stop or yield sign and failure to have a valid driver’s license while operating a motor vehicle.

The collision took place around 4:15 p.m.
