(Sibley)– A two-vehicle crash Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 9 and Osceola County Road L40 north of Sibley resulted in serious injuries to one of the drivers.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the scene shortly before 4:00 p.m.
Authorities say 16-year-old Kellyn Kruger of Sibley was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound on County Road L-40 at the intersection with Highway 9 when he pulled into the path of vehicle driven by 42-year-old Tony Tillma of Milbank, South Dakota, who was westbound on Highway 9.
Kruger was taken by ambulance to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley with incapacitating injuries. He was then transferred by helicopter to a Sioux Falls hospital.
No injuries were reported to Tillma.
Damage estimates to the vehicles weren’t immediately available.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Sibley Fire and Rescue.
