Orleans City Council Opts Not To Support Resolution For Wind Turbine Setbacks

August 13, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Orleans)– The Orleans City Council Monday evening voted NOT to support a resolution adopted by the city of Milford that calls on Dickinson county officials to adopt a three mile setback from city limits for the construction of wind turbines. Only one council member was in favor of supporting the resolution. The other four voted against.

A couple of council members said they understand the desire for the increased setback, but expressed concern over dictating what farmers outside of city limits can do with their land.
