Orange City House Fire Claims Two Lives

(Orange City)– A house fire in Orange City has claimed the lives of two people.

The Orange City Fire Department and an ambulance responded to 604 Albany Avenue in Orange City a little before 7:00 am Friday and found the home full of smoke. Upon entering firefighters found the bodies of 79-year-old Arlan Egdorf and 82-year-old Linda Egdorf, both of Orange City.

The house was destroyed, with damage in excess of $100,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

In addition to Orange City, departments from Alton, Hospers, Granville, Sioux Center and Le Mars battled the fire.
