Opera Iowa Troupe To Perform In Estherville

March 27, 2026

(Estherville) The Estherville Lincoln Central High school chorus will host the 2026 Opera Iowa Troupe on April 9th at the ELC Little Theatre. Ethan Hexammer, the high school Vocal Music Director at ELC, says they are excited to bring this caliber of talent to the area…

“It’s super cool that we get to offer an opera Aria spotlight concert instead of their normal full performance, specifically because it’s detailed per person. So we have four performers coming. The troupe itself is 7 professional artists, but four of them are singers, and they are from multiple nationwide places. And they get to come in and perform for the community and do different languages and different performance styles that aren’t normally seen around the area.”

Hexammer says the event is free and open to the public…

“The high school choir and the patrons of the Fine Arts are super excited to bring them in. There’s no cost to attend the event, but there is a suggested donation of five dollars or a free will donation at the door. We aren’t doing any tickets. It’s open to the public, and any fundraising that is taken from this goes straight back into the choir program to help purchase supplies and register for future events.”

These opera singers were selected for the Opera Iowa Troupe from nationwide auditions held in New York City, Houston, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Des Moines. The show will be held on Thursday April 9th at the ELC Little Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00. This event is free but they are asking for a suggested $5 donation or a free will offering.
