That word from Kirk Ewen of Arnolds Park, who keeps track of the official freeze-thaw dates for East and West Lakes Okoboji.
Ewen says East Lake Okoboji was declared officially frozen December 8th and West Lake Okoboji this (Friday) morning…December 18th.
That compares with November 21st last year for East Lake Okoboji and December 12th last year for West Lake Okoboji.
