(Okoboji)-The Okoboji Summer Theatre Staff arrived with their equipment truck this week. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Summer Theatre Company unpacked their equipment truck on Tuesday in preparation for their 65th Season.
Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says, they had some assistance from area student groups. “Our Okoboji Summer Theatre Association group reached out to the community and we’ve got two groups here today helping us from the Spirit Lake School system and Iowa Lakes Community College. So, we’re really grateful.”
She adds that the Box Office will open in about a month. “We could not be happier to be setting up for our 7 show season. We’re going to do 4 musicals, 3 comedies and we’re just so grateful to this community. They embrace us and help up. We were here at Winter Games which was a little unusual this year in announcing our season. We really didn’t get to have connection with everybody because of the weather so, we’re happy to be back and set things up so that we can get ready to open. Our Box Office opens the week of June 19th. So, we’re just ready to get started.”
