(Okoboji)-The Okoboji Summer Theatre announced their upcoming season on Saturday following The OST Association’s Omelet Brunch during The U of O Winter Games. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Summer Theatre revealed their 66th Season on Saturday.
Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says the cast will include talented students and guest artists. “We’ve got some really fun returning favorites, professional guest artists and actors you’ll see on stage, returning directors and some new faces, which is always good, shaking it up. A wonderful class coming up, a pretty large class, so our selections reflect some of their abilities and talents.”
She adds that the season will kick off June 25th. “Our first musical of the season traces the life and times of Ellie Greenwich, Leader of the Pack. So, it’s a really fun, doo-wop way to start off our 66th summer and that will run from June 25-30.”
The season will close in August. “We close out the summer with The Music Man, opening August 6th and running through the 11th. We are really enjoying bringing that back, and we’ll be auditioning locals to incorporate the youth and some of the young people that might want to join in on the band that’s part and parcel of The Music Man.”
