(Milford)-
Some area students have been working on a project at the Humane Society. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Okoboji and GTRA (Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire) No Boundaries Students have been redesigning a room at the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa.
GTRA Student Hailey Ebel says the room started out as a storage space. “I think it’s cool that we put new things in there and how it looks completely different because it was just a storage room when we first started it. We’ve put new walls in, like drywall. We put epoxy on the floor, furniture in the room, a new ceiling, painted it to make it more homey for the animals.”
She adds that a ribbon cutting and open house is scheduled for the public to view the project. “After we cut the ribbon, people can come and just check it out. We’ll have like cookies and water and stuff, and people can just socialize.”
The Open House will be held June 2 from 2-5 at the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa in Milford.
