Okoboji Foundation Awards New Round Of Grants

(Arnolds Park)– The Okoboji Foundation has awarded nearly 2.1 million dollars in grants for various communities impact projects for 2009. They include:

The Conservation Foundation of Dickinson County which will receive 30-thousand dollars to assist in the interior renovation of the Dickinson County Nature Center

14-thousand dollars will go to the Bedell Family YMCA to construct a sport field restroom/storage/concession facility

Historic Arnolds Park, Incorporated will receive 12,500-dollars to construct a bioswale adjacent to the bike trail on Preservation Plaza

12-thousand dollars was awarded to Camp Foster YMCA to construct a year-round indoor riding area

Dickinson County Kinship will receive 7,500-dollars to purchase equipment for mentoring activities and essential clothing for involved youth

The Conservation Foundation of Dickinson County was awarded six thousand dollars to develop an outdoor classroom at the Dickinson County Nature Center

Discovery House will receive 4,500-dollars to renovate the bathrooms and kitchen

1,675-dollars will go to to CHAPCO’s Timeout Nursery to purchase additional early childhood development toys and equipment

and the Lakes Community Theatre will receive 1,500-dollars to support Kinship’s involvement in the Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre through transportation and production attendance support.
