Okoboji Foundation Announces 2023 Grant Recipients

(Arnolds Park)– The Okoboji Foundation has allocated $362,000 to seven non-profit organizations through it 2023 grant process.

Board member and grant committee co-chair Joan Gronstal says the foundation received more than $1.1 million in grant requests for this cycle. She says proceeds from endowments allowed the foundation to provide $302,000 for awards with another $60,000 granted by the Youth in Philanthropy initiative.

The 2023 Okoboji Foundation Leadership Grant Awards:

  • $150,000 to Lakeside Lab: Innovation & Discovery Lab
  • $100,000 to City of West Okoboji: Terrace Park Beach Project
  • $52,000 to Ducks Unlimited: Lily Lake Restoration Project

The 2023 Youth in Philanthropy Grants steered by student decision:

  • $24,500 to Humane Society: Dog Kennel & Training facility
  • $17,493 to Twin Forks Trap & Skeet Club: Skeet Field
  • $11,000 to Templar Park Public Dock
  • $7,007 to SPL Youth Athletics: Benches for the Ball Diamonds
