Okoboji Council Votes To Get Bids On Street And Sewer Maintenance Projects

November 22, 2014

(Okoboji)— Meeting in special session earlier this week, the Okoboji city council gave the green light to move forward with some street and sewer maintenance projects.

The council set 2:00 p.m. August 13th as the date for a bidletting on a storm sewer rehabilitation project. The council will act on the bids following a public hearing on the project at it’s regular monthly meeting that same evening. City Administrator Dennis Daly says it involves lining about 1,100 feet of sanitary sewer in the city.

The council also decided to proceed in getting bids to spot repair areas of Lakeshore Drive, Stakeout Road, Brooks Lane and Chalstrom Beach Road. Daly says it will likely consist of chip sealing areas where the pavement has broken up. He says the city plans to receive bids and possibly act on them at the end of this month. He say work wouldn’t start until after the Labor Day Holiday period is over so traffic has had a chance to die down.
