Okoboji Citywide Clean Up Day Set For Monday, June 6th

June 01, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Okoboji)– The annual clean up day in Okoboji will be held this coming Monday, June 6th. City officials say the day is designed to pick up items not normally picked up for for regular garbage collection and is for residential areas only.

Residents are asked to limit the weight of items to be picked up and to have the items at the curb by the morning of Monday, June 6th. Planks/boards should not exceed 6 feet in length. Batteries, paint, insecticide cans and hazardous waste will not be picked up.

White goods (appliances), brown goods (electronics), televisions, furniture and other stuffed items, car tires, truck and tractor tires, must have tags attached to them in order to be picked up. Tags are available for purchase during regular office hours at city hall. The tag system is available to residents year-round to dispose of those items.

he City will NOT collect the following special items for free on Clean-Up Day: white goods (appliances), brown goods (electronics), televisions, furniture (stuffed items), car tires, truck & tractor tires.
