Okoboji City Council Approves Final Adoption Of New Zoning Regs. For Campgrounds/RV Parks

(Okoboji)– The Okoboji City Council Tuesday evening approved the final adoption of new zoning regulations for campgrounds and RV parks. City Administrator Michael Meyers outlined the changes that were recommended by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission…

“We’re simply moving visitor habitation campgrounds which includes uses like RV parks and tent camping-type campgrounds from a permitted principal use in the C1 General Commercial zoning district, and moving it into a conditional use within the same zoning district, C1 General Commercial. Essentially going from relatively unregulated to allowing the city to regulate it and have a little more control over development of these within our community.”

The unanimous vote to adopt the changes followed a series of public hearings the council held on the matter.
