(Arnolds Park)-There are a couple of new things at this year’s Okoboji Blue Water Festival. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Blue Water Festival will feature a full schedule of activities and events throughout the day Saturday at Preservation Plaza.
Co-chair Julie Peterson says, a Scuba Demonstration has been added to the lineup this year. “This year we have something new, a scuba diving demonstration, an introduction to scuba diving. It’s from roughly 11-2 that day. They’ll be on the public beach near Preservation Plaza. That also is free. Clare Wynne will be having kids put on regulators, put their heads in the water and experience clean water, and that goes with the theme of preserving it.”
Festival Founder Greg Drees says, free shuttles will be offered during the concert Saturday night. “Because parking will probably be an issue for the concert, there’s going to be a free shuttle provided by RIDES. There are two free off-site parking options for the concert. They are at Calvary United Methodist Church and Oleson Landscaping. Both sites are just south on Highway 71. So, if you can’t find a parking space, there’s a shuttle running continually starting at 5:15.”
