Okoboji Blue Water Festival to feature Keynote Speakers Art Cullen and Chris Jones

April 18, 2024 Becky Thoreson

(Arnolds Park)-The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has announced a couple of distinguished speakers who will share The Keynote Address at this year’s festival. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has announced that two speakers will address water quality issues at this year’s festival.
Co-Chair Greg Drees explains. “We decided after discussing it for awhile that we would take a bit of a different approach this year and invite a couple of writers that are known for their reporting about natural resources. We have invited Art Cullen, The Editor Co-owner of the Storm Lake Times, and Chris Jones who recently retired as a research engineer at The University of Iowa. We’re very excited about having both of these very talented writers share The Keynote at the festival.”

He adds that the event will be moderated by Julie Gammack. “Both of these gentlemen come from The Iowa Writer’s Collaborative which was founded by Julie Gammack, a journalist herself. Gammack is also the host of the annual Writer’s and Songwriter’s Retreat that’s held at Lakeside Lab in Okoboji every summer. So, a great line-up.”
The Keynote Speakers will talk under the big tent at Preservation Plaza August 10.
