(Arnolds Park)-The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has expanded the kids and family activites this year. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Blue Water Festival will feature a number of free activities for families and children on Saturday.
Festival Co-Chair Julie Peterson explains. “The kids and family activities will be running from 10-2. One thing they’ll be doing is a Go Fish Booth, where they can win prizes. There will be a tee shirt painting area which has been really popular in the past. There’ll be face painting, we have a professional face painter. There’ll be a huge inflatable for the kids to play on. We’re having hands-on water activities, and one part of this will be water tables. At one area there’ll be a pouring station, there will be a watershed at another table, and there’ll be bubble making in one of them, and we have a lot of fun giveaways. We’re giving away books to the kids, sunglasses, little plastic wallets you can put on your phone or ipad, and then this year we are featuring something different, collapsible doggie bowls, so you can reuse them.”
The Festival will also include Exhibitor’s Row, Fishing Seminar, Keynote Speaker and the evening concert featuring The Nadas and Melissa Etheridge followed by the fireworks Saturday night.
