(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club will present a Fishing Seminar Saturday morning during the Okoboji Blue Water Festival. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Blue Water Festival schedule includes a Fishing Seminar with Fishing Pro Keith Kavajez, who is a product consultant for top fishing brand companies, including Pure Fishing. “I actually work a lot in Spirit Lake with the company Pure Fishing, particularly Berklee, and we make a lot of lures. I’ve helped them design a lot of lures. So, a lot of my seminar will be talking about how to choose the correct baits for a situation, and then, how to maybe get a little more aggressive with your fishing, cover a little bit more water and maybe contact more fish, hopefully catch more fish.”
He notes that the clinic will includes tips for all levels of fishing. “I get a lot of kids coming to the seminar, and I try to talk anywhere down to the basics, maybe even tying knots and picking simple lures like jigs and things like that, all the way up to more sophisticated techniques that maybe if there’s some tournament anglers in the crowd, or avid fishermen, I kind of try to cover the whole gamut. Plus, anytime during my seminar if people have questions, or if they want to come up after and talk to me, I’m available to do that, too.”
The seminar will start at 10 am Saturday under the Big Tent at Preservation Plaza and is free and open to the public.
