(Arnolds Park)-The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has announced the Headliner for this year’s concert. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Blue Water Festival will be held August 12th in the Iowa Great Lakes, with a full schedule of events including kid’s and family activities, a fishing seminar, panel discussions and Keynote Speaker, acclaimed Author and Filmmaker, Jon Bowermaster.
Festival Founder Greg Drees says, the festival culminates with the big evening concert. “After a full day of water quality education, we take time to celebrate and talk about the good things that we have accomplished in terms of water quality. We’ll have The Firm, they’re a great cover band from Omaha. They’ll kick off the music around 6:30, followed by A. J. Croce. He’s the son of Jim Croce. He’s a well-known and recognized artist in his own right, but he also plays a lot of his father’s very beautiful music.”
Co-Chair Julie Peterson says, four-time Grammy Nominee Elle King will headline the show. “Her music is influenced by country, rock and blues. You might recognize her from the duet with Miranda Lambert, ‘Drunk’ (And I don’t wanna go Home). She has a new album out this year, and we are super excited to have Elle King as our headliner.”
The festival will be held at Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park.
