(Milford)– Two Okoboji High School students have been selected as members of the All-State Jazz Band.
Okoboji High School senior Kiley Wermersen and freshman Brittany Kolbeck were selected to the Iowa Class 1A/2A All State Jazz Band.
Top high school jazz musicians from across the state audition for a chance to perform in one of the three All-State Jazz Bands (Class 1A/2A, 3A and 4A).
Director of this year’s 1A/2A Jazz Band was Dr. Juan Tony Guzman. Dr. Guzman is director of jazz studies at Luther College and is originally from the Dominican Republic.
Kiley is the daughter of Kim and Dee Wermersen; Brittany is the daughter of Doug and Jean Kolbeck.
The Okoboji High School Band is directed by Greg Forney. He’s assisted by Okoboji Middle School Band Director Julie Forney.
