(Milford)– The Okoboji High School Jazz Band captured 1st place honors in class 2A competition Tuesday at the Lewis and Clark Jazz Festival hosted by Western Iowa Tech.
Outstanding Soloist/Musicianship awards went to Dallas Clark in vocal jazz, Maggie Rohlk on alto sax, Nicole Ballah on tenor sax, Aubry Kolegraff and Dallas Clark on trumpet, and Bryanna Wittrock on vibes.
Okoboji’s 1st place finish at Lewis & Clark puts them another step closer to a wild card invitation to the Iowa Jazz Championships but does not guarantee them an invite.
The Okoboji Middle and High School jazz bands will present their annual Evening of Jazz concert in the Okoboji High School auditorium Friday, March 4th.
