(Undated)– Officials with Summit Carbon Solutions announced today (Thurs.) they have obtained voluntary easement agreements for two-thirds of their project route in Iowa. A press release says 1,050 landowners in 29 Iowa counties have signed 1,840 easement agreements with the company.
Summit Carbon Solutions is among several companies proposing to build carbon capture pipelines across the Iowa and neighboring states.
The proposed pipelines have drawn opposition from some environmental organizations and from those who are concerned the companies may resort to eminent domain in order to obtain easements they can’t get voluntarily.
