Officials Say A Project To Remove Invasive Trees In An O’Brien County Park Was A Success

January 08, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Sutherland)– Officials with the Little Sioux Watershed Conservation Partnership say a cedar tree cutting workday last week in O’Brien county was a success.

Amy Crouch, a spokesperson for the group, says community members, volunteers and environmental enthusiasts combined their efforts to remove the invasive trees at Dog Creek Park near Sutherland on January 4th.

Crouch says the invasive eastern red cedar trees were threatening local flora and fauna in that area.

She says the work was done under the guidance of environmental experts and conservationists.
