(Orange City)– An Ocheyedan man escaped serious injury in a single vehicle crash Monday in Sioux county.
Authorities say 68-year-old James McDonald of Ocheyedan was driving a 2006 Gillig bus northbound on Highway 75 about two miles west of Hull when he reportedly lost consciousness. The vehicle left the road and went into a ditch, coming to rest in a soybean field.
McDonald sustained minor injuries but declined immediate medical attention. He was cited for failure to maintain control. The crash took place around 8:30 am.
