(Primghar)– The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a single-vehicle crash last Thursday that injured a Primghar man.
Authorities say 90-year-old Sidney Gustafson of Primghar was driving a 2006 Chevrolet truck westbound about a mile east of Primghar at the intersection of two county roads. Gustafson told deputies the wind blew him across the center line. He then over-corrected, causing the truck to leave the road and go into the ditch. It struck an embankment and became airborne over a gravel road. It landed in the opposite ditch. It continued across an adjoining road before finally coming to rest in the south ditch.
Gustafson was taken by ambulance to the Primghar hospital where he was treated for non-incapacitating injuries.
Damage to the truck was estimated at $12,000.
The crash took place around 1:30 in the afternoon.
