December 09, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Primghar)– A single vehicle crash late Sunday night in O’Brien county sent multiple people to the hospital.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Wuilder Montoya of Chicago was driving a 2001 Ford Escape northbound on Nettle Avenue when the vehicle reportedly traveled through the intersection at Highway 10. Authorities say it then left the road, went into a ditch, and rolled into a farm field.

Montoya and six passengers in the vehicle, all from Chicago, Illinois, were taken by ambulance to the Orange City hospital. They are identified as 39-year-old Anna Prieto; 44-year-old Jonathan Falcon; 33-year-old Edison Reinosa Pacheco; 30-year-old Victor Herrera; 24-year-old Odriana Gonzalez and 30-year-old Humberto Guitierez Mora. Authorities say several of them were ejected from the vehicle, with four sustaining serious injuries.

Montoya was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device; failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
