(Primghar)– The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a collision May 23rd that sent one person to the hospital.
Authorities say Sonya Sizemore of Primghar was westbound on 400th Street and Jeffrey Grothaus of Primghar was northbound on Starling Avenue. Authorities say Sizemore then collided with a trailer being pulled by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Grothaus. The trailer spun 180 degrees and wound up in the ditch and field on the northwest corner of the intersection. The trailer then separated from the pickup and became airborne, landing in the field behind Sizemore upside down.
Sizemore was taken to Baum Harmon Hospital by the Primghar ambulance.
No injuries were reported to Grothaus, who was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way at an uncontrolled intersection.
Five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Sizemore; a thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Grothaus with five thousand dollars estimated to the trailer.
