November 22, 2014

(Primghar)—A single vehicle crash Friday in O’Brien county claimed the life of a Primghar man.

The Iowa State Patrol says 24-year-old Derrick Rensink of Primghar was driving a 2005 GMC Denali westbound on County Road B40 approaching Redwood Avenue when he veered to the right. The vehicle went into the north ditch where it struck a concrete culvert and an embankment.

Rensink, who was alone in the vehicle at the time, was taken to the Primghar hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash took place shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
