(Sheldon)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday in O’Brien county resulted in possible injuries to one of the drivers.
The Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Mindy Walton of Marcus was northbound on a county road when she slid through a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 18. Deputies say Walton’s vehicle then collided with a van driven by 26-year-old Jacob Voigt of Sheldon who was eastbound on Highway 18. Walton’s vehicle came to rest in the north ditch.
Possible injuries were reported to Voigt, but he apparently didn’t seek immediate treatment. No injuries were reported to Walton, who was cited for failure to have insurance.
$2,000 in damage was estimated to a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Voigt; a 2002 Ford Windstar driven by Walton sustained an estimated $3,500 in damage.
The crash took place shortly after 3:30 a.m.
Authorities say roads were ice-covered at the time.
