(Sheldon)– A collision involving two trucks Monday in O’Brien county sent two people to the hospital.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 86-year-old Verdean Blumeyer of Sheldon was driving a 1997 Chevrolet truck southbound on Oakhill Avenue and 47-year-old Gaylen Schneider of Alton was driving a 2003 Chevrolet truck eastbound on 330th Street.
Deputies say Blumeyer failed to yield the right-of-way and was struck by the vehicle driven by Schneider.
Both drivers were taken to the Sheldon hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
Blumeyer was cited for failure to yield.
The collision took place shortly after 1:00 p.m.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Sheldon Police Department.
Damage estimates to the vehicles weren’t immediately available.
