O’Brien County Authorities Investigate Sign Thefts

November 22, 2014

(Primghar)– O’Brien county authorities are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a couple of sign thefts.

Authorities say the first took place around September 8th on county road B-40 in east central O’Brien county. Two signs with the name “Maurer Manufacturing” were taken after the suspects unscrewed them from the posts. The posts weren’t damaged. The signs have a blue background with white lettering.

The second incident took place late Sunday, September 27th or early September 28th. Authorities say suspects removed a large business sign for “D & S Performance” from the corner of 390th Street and Pierce Avenue five miles west of Primghar. The sign was about four feet high by eight feet wide with a black background and orange lettering. The name D & S Performance was centered on it with a car motor pictured on each side.

The O’Brien County Crimestoppers Program is offering a 200-dollar reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offenders.

Anyone with information should call (712) 957-3415.
