(Rock Rapids)– A Rock Rapids man has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison on several charges.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 31-year-old Melvin Geovani Aguilar-Lopez was sentenced this past Friday. He pleaded guilty back in May of this year to one count of illegal re-entry as an aggravated felon; one count of failure to update registration as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and violations of supervised release.
Aguilar-Lopez must also serve a 5-year term of supervised release following the prison term.
