May 10, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Sioux City)– A northwest Iowa man has pled guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

52-year-old Carl Thompson of Larrabee admitted to his involvement in a scheme that distributed more than three pounds of meth from December 2019 through May of 2022. Thompson admitted he assisted at least six others in obtaining the drug from sources in California and Nevada and transporting it to Cherokee for distribution.

Thompson is being held in the custody of a U.S. Marshal pending sentencing. He faces at least 10 years of imprisonment, and possibly up to life.
