(Des Moines)– The city of Primghar has been awarded $500,000 to help defray the cost of $6.7 million wastewater project.
The funding is through the Wastewater and Drinking Water Treatment Financial Assistance Program, created through a bill passed by the Iowa Legislature and signed into law in 2018. The program assists communities in upgrading their water infrastructure.
Primghar is one of 23 communities awarded $9 million in funding through the latest cycle.
The 2022 program received 60 applications requesting more than $24 million in water quality grants.
