Northwest Iowa Woman Charged With Insurance Fraud

January 27, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Des Moines)– A northwest Iowa woman has been charged with insurance fraud…presenting false information.

The Iowa Insurance Division says 32-year-old Meranda Miller of Sheldon was charged with the Class D felony following an investigation that began in November of 2022. They say it stems from a criminal complaint filed by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau.

Miller is accused of providing false statements to an insurer in connection with an insurance claim.

Miller was arrested on Tuesday of this week in Sheldon and was booked into the O’Brien county jail. She has since been released after posting a $5,000 bond.
