(Undated)– Seven Okoboji and 13 Spirit Lake High School band students have been accepted into this year’s Northwest Iowa High School Honor Band.
Okoboji High School students that were selected include Kris Kaufman on trumpet and Lowen Gude on tuba; Kelly Kaufman on flute; Nicole Ballah on clarinet; Mark Welle on tuba; Emily Noll on clarinet and Morgan Nielsen on bass clarinet.
Accepted from Spirit Lake High School are Lindsay Hamilton and Lindsey Kent on clarinet; Abbie Shew on bassoon; Kaylee Tritle on alto saxophone; Lauren Shell on baritone saxophone; Ryah Lohse on trumpet; Hannah Coenen and Michaela Moffitt on french horn; Alex Lende, Connor Rowley and Haley Welch on trombone; CJ Kent, baritone; and Dillon Baldwin, percussion.
The Northwest Iowa Honor Band will present a concert January 9th at Morningside College in Sioux City. Guest conductors will be Dr. Calvin Hofer, Director of bands at Mesa State University; and Dr. Jay Gilbert, Director of bands at Doane College.
