(Arnolds Park)-A campaign to assist The Backpack Program is underway. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Northwest Bank has launched a campaign for the Backpack Program to assist students in Spirit Lake and Okoboji schools.
Branch President Nicole Evans says donations are being accepted throughout the month of November. “The Backpack Program is an excellent program that both the Spirit Lake and Okoboji schools offer to their students and it’s the ability to put some meals together for some students that are able to take them home over the weekends, over long holiday breaks. So, we are running a campaign in November here all month long at our Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park and Milford locations where we are collecting non perishable food items for kids or monetary donations so we can donate it back to the school’s programs so they can supply that to their students as needed.”
She adds that donations may be dropped off at the Northwest Bank Branches in the Lakes Area. “They can drop them off at any of the three locations here in the Lakes Area. Again, we’re accepting them all month long the month of November.
