(Spencer)—Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision this (Mon.) morning at the intersection of Highway 71 and 18, or the North “Y” in Spencer.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Lynne Goeders of rural Mallard was driving a 2009 Chevrolet truck and was attempting to drive through the intersection. Deputies say Goeders traveled into the path of a southbound 2005 GMC Envoy driven by 62-year-old Blair Bailey of Milford. Authorities say fog was prevalent at the time and that Goeders apparently couldn’t see the vehicle Bailey was driving.
Bailey was transported by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where he was treated for a sprained back and released. No injuries were reported to Goeders.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash which took place shortly after 6:00 a.m.
