(Kinbrae, Mn.)– There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage when a tornado touched down Sunday evening in northeastern Nobles county of southwest Minnesota. The National Weather service says it happened around 7:15 pm about one mile west/northwest of Kinbrae.
Video sent by storm chasers to the Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls reportedly shows the tornado on the ground for about five minutes.
A tornado warning was issued a short time later for northern Jackson county. It expired at 8:00 pm with no reports of any confirmed touchdowns there.
The warning took many surprise. While some showers were moving through the region at the time, no thunderstorms were present.
